Sorry it has been so quiet of late….but to be honest there has been very little opportunity to get out and find “stuff” with the crops growing and the pasture higher than knee height. All that is changing though and I am amazed at the speed of the farmers as they harvest the wheat, and plough the fields. All is done in one day…amazing…

I have had permission to detect on land around Manor Farm and to date have found two beautiful Crotal Bells, a George II Penny and two George IV half pennies. Not a bad return for two trips but nothing earth shattering. I will post some photos in the next day or so.

On Wednesday of lat week I gave a talk on the Archaeology of the Eversden’s to the village Eight O’Clock club, which went down extremely well I believe. The audience loved being able to look at the finds and ask questions about the find spots and what each find could tell us about the history of the village. This talk is a pre-cursor to the larger talk which I hoping to give in the Winter to the whole village…watch this space.
